چکیده

We discuss the gravitomagnetic time delay and the Lense-Thirring effect in the context of Brans-Dicke theory of gravity. We compare the theoretical results obtained with those predicted by general relativity. We show that within the accurarcy of experiments designed to measure these effects both theories predict essentially the same result.

On Some Aspects of Gravitomagnetism in Scalar-Tensor Theories of Gravity

We discuss the gravitomagnetism in the context of scalar-tensor theories of gravity. We obtain the equation of motion of a particle in terms of gravitoelectric and gravitomagnetic fields. We discuss the gravitomagnetic time delay and the Lense-Thirring effect in the context of scalar-tensor theories of gravity. In the particular case of Brans-Dicke Theory, we compare the results obtained with t...

Effect of the 2nd degree and order geopotential coefficient on the Lense-Thirring experiment and on the gravitomagnetic clock effect

The impact of the mismodelling in the Earth’s geopotential coefficient C22 on the detection of the general relativistic Lense-Thirring and gravitomagnetic clock effects is investigated. The systematic error induced on the Lense-Thirring LAGEOS experiment amounts to almost 1%. Regarding the gravitomagnetic clock effect, the systematic error induced on the satellite’s azimuthal location is 1-2 or...

Speed of gravity and gravitomagnetism

A v J /c correction to the Shapiro time delay seems verified by a 2002 Jovian observation by VLBI. In this Essay, this correction is interpreted as an effect of the aberration of light in an optically refractive medium which supplies an analog of Jupiter's gravity field rather than as a measurement of the speed of gravity, as it was first proposed by other authors. The variation of the index of...

On the impact of the secular rates of the even zonal harmonics on the measurement of the Lense-Thirring effect: a quantitative analysis

In this paper we discuss the role of the uncertainty in the even zonal harmonic coefficients Jl of the Newtonian component of the terrestrial gravitational potential from the most recent CHAMP and/or GRACE based Earth gravity models on the measurement of the general relativistic gravitomagnetic Lense-Thirring effect with the nodes Ω of the existing laser-ranged LAGEOS and LAGEOS II satellites. ...

کیهان‌شناسی کلاسیکی برانز- دیکی در چارچوب اینشتین و تغییر نشان متریک

Pauli (or Einstein) frame is used to study the Brans-Dicke gravity theory, minimally coupled with dilatonic Brans-Dicke scalar field, whose solutions involve degenerate metrics. Some of these solutions exhibit transitions from an Euclidean domain to a Lorentzian space-time corresponding to a spatially flat Robertson-Walker cosmology.
